Why Hawaii Travel Packages Save you Money
What should you look for when you look at Hawaii travel packages? Well you look for the best deal for one - what offers you the most for the price. And if you're bound and determined to see a specific island, you'll want to make sure your Hawaii travel package will include time on that island.
If you haven't visited Hawaii before, you should stick to just one island because that is the best way to experience what Hawaii has to offer. There's not a great deal between them, but if you island hop you might miss out a lot. Those who travel between islands know the state well, and know the best times to be on each island.
Here is some information on one or two of the main islands to help you choose between them. Each island is different and has a lot to offer the tourist. Hopefully this information will help you make the most of your Hawaii travel package.
First we will look at the Big Island of Hawaii. You'll definitely want to see the lava flows at Kilauea volcano, which you can do by helicopter or by foot. In the same day you can go snow-skiing on the slopes of Mauna Kea and bathe in the sun and warm sand on a Big Island beach. You can hike through rainforests and see rare plants and orchids, view ancient Petroglyphs or, if you are adventurous, you can try your luck catching a Marlin on a deep-sea fishing charter.
If you like scenery, and want something that you have likely never seen before, then try the island of Maui. It is known as 'Valley Island' and offers some marvelous scenery such as Lao Valley and the Haleakala Crater. Don't forget your camera or you will kick yourself!
On Lanai, which has earned the nickname of 'Pineapple Isle', you need to check out the Garden of the Gods. Lanai is a smaller stop for tourists with only two resorts, but there is fine golf there and much more site seeing.
Another island that hasn't yet been overdeveloped is Molokai, the 'Friendly Isle'. It sure lives up to its name because this is one of the friendliest islands on the whole archipelago. It is relatively unspoiled and if you want a lovely quiet vacation where you can swim and dive in crystal clear waters, then you must add this to your Hawaiian travel package.
Then there is the island that many think is Hawaii - Oahu, 'The Gathering Place'. It is well named because everybody seems to come here - it is, after all, the main island, containing Honolulu, Waikiki and Pearl Harbor. Even if you prefer the quiet of Lanai or Molokai, you have to take a trip here just to say you have been.
Lastly, the island of Kauai. This is known as the "Garden Island" because it is such a beautiful island - people who vacation here never want to leave. Mark Twain came here and named Waimea Canyon the 'Grand Canyon of the Pacific'. The Napali Coast boasts 1,000 foot cliffs dropping straight down to the ocean, and beaches offering the best sun and surf you will find anywhere. Superlatives are unnecessary because every word you could use would be true about this magnificent island. Were you to include only one in your Hawaiian vacation package, it must be this - but then we could say that about any of these beautiful Hawaiian islands.
